Below are kind words from one of particpants in one of our recent garden building projects - We'd like to thank Debbie Lancaster for the kind words and sharing her experience!
"Dear friends,
Since we did the garden, my garden, our garden since it is a part of each of you, I’ve been so busy I haven’t had time to stop until today. The garden is beautiful – my yard, which always seemed so ordinary, is now extraordinary!
I’d like to formally thank all of you. First, I thank everyone for their time and individual contributions. Kenna for the original design, Rachael for picking up where Kenna left off. Patti for the edible garden, and Peggy and Rachael for coordinating with Wicklins and everyone else.
Second, for everyone’s creativity, those creative juices that flowed from within to help transform ideas to paper to the finished project.
Third, for the energy and physical manpower needed to do the project. How do you do this week after week? Dedication to your job, to the ideas behind the initiative? I don’t know, but you do it.
Fourth and finally, for the opportunity I’ve had to meet new people, who I really like and who I hope to continue to know and be able to count as my friends. I hope you will all think of my home and gardens as a comfortable place where you are always welcome.
Sincerely,
Debbie"
On working with the GVC - " It’s been an opportunity to see ideas, commitment and hard work transform the land before my eyes; to see land that is barren and neglected, trashed, or spoiled, turned into a thing of beauty. Where there was an empty meadow, now trees are growing; where trash once clogged a stream, nature again prevails; where there was simple turf, beautiful bayscape and edible gardens, in this case, my gardens – a work of beauty. Thank you."
